I have spent twenty years running teams and the organisations around them. I trained as a theoretical physicist, with a PhD in modelling complex systems, and then moved into management consulting at McKinsey and Accenture.
I have since held senior roles at Mastercard and Metlen. At Mastercard I built the Athens advisory hub from three consultants to eighty-five, led a team of 120 people across 15 markets in Central and Eastern Europe, and owned delivery of a multi-million-dollar project portfolio. Along the way I founded two consulting firms of my own: Rector Innovation Advisors, later Profate, in 2012, and Simulen in 2025.
This is where I write down what that work has taught me, mostly about leadership and people, sometimes about other things. The older pieces were first published elsewhere, the earliest in 2014, and keep their original dates.
Sagacraft takes its name from the craft of building stories, which is most of what leading people turns out to involve. I write when I have something to say and not otherwise.
The views here are my own and not those of any employer, client or board.
What I am working on at the moment is on the Now page.
